Finally India managed to retain the number one spot in the ICC test ranking. South Africa fought hard but failed to replace India from the top position. Once again it was Harbhajan Singh, the turbunator who brought about the final wicket with a slider to the left-hand batsman Morne Morkel, who had put together a 76-minute last-wicket stand with Hasim Amla.
