Aussies The New King of World Hockey

The 2010 Hockey World Cup ended on Saturday with another great final between the top two teams of the world, Germany and Australia here in New Delhi. The crowd of New Delhi witnessed 38 exciting matches played between 12 countries in 14 days (from February 28 to March 13) at Dhyan Chand National Stadium. Ric Charlesworth's Australia defeated the defending champion Germany by 2-1 and lifted the Hero Honda FIH World Cup for the second time. They had broken the dream of German players to complete the hat-trick of titles.
Host India ended the tournament with satisfied 8th position.
But their archrival Pakistan ended with disappointed last position.
