Dale Steyn's dangerous reverse swing cracks right through the India's relatively new batting line up just after the tea. Steyn took 5 wickets in that spell after tea and demolish the Indian middle and lower order. Indian batsmen didn't have any other options instead of going back to pavilion; they added only 12 runs after tea before bundling out at 233 in reply to South Africa's 558 for 6 declared. End of the day at stump India is 66 for the loss of both the openers in their second innings after following on by South Africa's captain Graeme Smith. Steyn picked up his eighth wicket of the day when Sehwag (16) slashing at a wide delivery and edging to Smith at first slip. Earlier he took 7 wickets for 51 runs in the first innings. Dream spell of Dale Steyn reminds the first day of Ahmedabad Test 2008 ( 3rd April'2008) between the same oppositions, when Steyn rocked the then strongest batting line up of the world by taking 5 wickets only for 23 runs and India got all out for 76 runs only in 109 minutes.
Tomorrow is going to be the most crucial day for Indian team as well as Indian selectors. World number one team is playing against world number two team without having three important batsmen (Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Yuvraj Singh, all are injured) in the side. Captain MS Dhoni had to choose reserved wicket keeper Wriddhiman Saha in the playing eleven to complete the 7 batsmen slots in the team and playing two spinners to cover up of form off spinner Harbhajan Singh.
Now it’s a big big opportunity for three new faces of the team, two of them are debutant (S. Badrinath and W.Saha) and the other one (Murali Vijay) is playing his 4th Test. They just need to play their natural cricket without any fear of losing and give company to most experienced Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar and save the match for India.
