King Federer wins his 16th Grand Slam Battle

King Federer wins one more battle, adding one more Grand Slam in his tally to make it 16 titles in total. World number one took 2 hours and 41 minutes to destroy the World number 4 in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (11) to win the first Grand Slam of the decade before a capacity crowd here at Rod Laver Arena. “Well done for your incredible tournament; you played it fantastic,” Federer told Murray after the match. “You’re too good of a player not to win a Grand Slam, so don’t worry about it.”
“I’m over the moon winning this again,” said the 28-year-old Swiss. “I think I played some of my best tennis in my life these last two weeks… It’s also very special the first Grand Slam as a father,”
On the other hand 22 year old Scot was very emotional and apologetic for his inability to end British men's 75 years of waiting for winning a Grand Slam. “Roger was a lot better than me tonight. I got great support back home the last couple of weeks. Sorry I couldn’t do it for you tonight but... I can cry like Roger; it’s just a shame I can’t play like him.” Murray added while fighting off tears “Hopefully, one time I can come back and win here,”
It was a match between present king of tennis and future king of tennis. Once again Federer has proved his ability to hold the nerve at the bigger stage by winning 16th Grand Slam out of a total of 22 major finals.
That is why Federer is the best... one of the finest players the world have ever seen.
